About MockingBoard
What Is This?
MockingBoard is the Letterboxd of NFL Draft scouting. What started as a Discord bot for running mock drafts in chat grew into a full platform for draft culture, Whether it's a 320 person war room style mock draft, a wacky arcade mode, or just your standard 1 rounder, MockingBoard has something for every draft enthusiast. Mock drafts are also just the start. MockingBoard has a full suite of scouting tools and a commitment to building the best possible platform for draft culture. Takes, articles, reports, featured contributors, and more all lean into the idea of community-first scouting.
One Developer
MockingBoard is built and maintained by one person. No team, no investors, no board of directors. Every feature, every bug fix, every design decision comes from me talking to users every single day. That means the roadmap is shaped by the community, not by a product manager optimizing for engagement metrics. If something matters to the people using it, it gets built.
No Ads. Ever.
There are no ads on MockingBoard. There never will be. Ads ruin user experience, slow down pages, and create incentives that conflict with building something good. A clean, fast interface should be the default, not a premium option. MockingBoard is committed to keeping the experience ad-free for everyone, forever.
No Gambling Money
MockingBoard will never accept money from sportsbooks, gambling companies, prediction markets, or anyone in that ecosystem. Not as sponsors, not as partners, not as advertisers. This is a hard rule with no exceptions.
Scouting and mock drafting are about the craft. Evaluating talent, testing your judgment, building a track record. That has nothing to do with gambling, and keeping that line clear matters.
No Outside Money
MockingBoard is self-funded. There are no venture capitalists and no growth-at-all-costs pressure. The business model is simple: build something good enough that people want to pay for Pro features, and use that revenue to keep building.
That means MockingBoard can stay focused on what matters, the product and the community, without the compromises that come with outside money.
Why It Exists
Every other draft platform is either paywalled, ad-riddled, or treats scouting as content to drive traffic rather than work to be respected. Your mock draft results disappear. Your rankings aren't tracked. Your scouting reports don't build toward anything. You spend hours on tons of different platforms, but none of it comes together.
MockingBoard is built on the idea that your scouting work should matter. Every report, every board, every prediction builds your identity as a scout. Accuracy is tracked and public. History is preserved. Attribution is real. Most importantly, everything lives in one place, so you can spend more time scouting and less time switching between platforms.
If you care about the draft, this is the place for you.
